OUR MISSION

Women of Woodside, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization composed of women who are residents or property owners within Woodside Plantation Property Owners Association jurisdiction (including tenants in an owner's home). Our by-laws state the group serves two objectives: 1) fundraising and volunteering and 2) residents' enjoyment.

Fundraising and Volunteering

Women of Woodside, Inc. is dedicated to contributing to the well-being of our community through fundraising and volunteering.
Some of our fundraisers include our annual membership drive (starting July 1), a Holiday Home Tour, a charity golf tournament, a bake sale and a Trash & Treasure Sale. Our Community Services volunteer arm provides many opportunities for working for and in the community. During the year, you can find us collecting diapers or food for area agencies, buying holiday gifts for the needy, repainting children's rooms at Helping Hands or passing out hot dogs at the Special Olympics.
With your help this past year, W.O.W. was able to support many local charities with food, clothes, supplies and more than $95,000 in donations. Some of the organizations that benefited were A.C.T.S., Council on Aging, Child Advocacy Center, Children's Place, Christ Central Ministries, Community Medical Clinic of Aiken County, Cumbee Center, First Tee, Golden Harvest Food Bank, Helping Hands, Mental Health Association, Salvation Army, SPCA and the United Way of Aiken.
As you will see from the listing of volunteer activities found in the front of the Woodside Plantation resident directory, there are many opportunities for residents to contribute to the community that we call home.
Residents of Woodside Plantation who need our help are aided by the Welcome and Member Support committee. This committee is made up of volunteers who provide needed services - such as transportation, errands, meals and respite visits - to Woodside residents during emergencies. It also provides for those with ongoing needs and ensures that residents are not forgotten in times when their spirits need lifting.

Residents' Enjoyment

Women of Woodside, Inc. also endeavors to enhance the enjoyment of our residents by supporting special interest groups and promoting group activities throughout the year. W.O.W., Inc. holds its' General Meeting in September and schedules luncheons in October, February and May for all members to enjoy. For those who like to cook and/or consume fine food, we offer our Gourmet Group and our annual Progressive Dinner. We currently have seven book clubs, a couples bridge group, an active Singles Group, a Garden Club and an Out-To-Lunch  Bunch. W.O.W. mails out our monthly newsletter, "Plantation News," to keep members informed of upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
